Problem Statement

Urban SDK is a geospatial AI platform that provides traffic, infrastructure, and mobility data to help local governments and public leaders make data-driven decisions. It acts as a "system of action," analyzing data from sources like sensors, cameras, and connected vehicles to manage road safety, traffic flow, and urban planning.

Challenges

Cities and public agencies were relying on manual data collection, expensive hardware, and outsourced analysis to answer basic traffic questions. The platform had to process large volumes of hourly traffic data for every road, serve many government agencies at the same time, and keep sensitive public-sector data secure. It also needed a backend that could scale with fast customer growth without slowing down analytics or reports.

Solution

We built a scalable backend made of independent services, so each part of the platform, such as data processing, analytics, and user access, can grow and be updated on its own. Large traffic and mobility datasets are processed in the background, keeping the platform fast even under heavy load. Secure, role-based access protects each agency's data, and clear, well-documented APIs make it easy to connect new data sources and features. Every service is packaged for consistent, reliable deployment across environments.
